A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there could be heard the strange haunting echo’s of what sounded like clicking needles and it wasn’t until the most sophisticated instrumentation detected the tremors, which once decoded and pieced together formed actual words that required no further translation. Those words?
“I’M RUNNING OUT OF WOOL!”
And so the countdown began, mankind’s struggle to kit out the people with woolly jumpers fit for outer space.
Here’s a great little project for a spacey client. We can’t quite work out if it was a tribute to the space race or a very Kubrickian salute to the very powerful and evocative movie, The Shining. Film buffs around the world may know the reference. If not then when you watch this flick, make sure you’ve got one of our extra thick jumpers to hide behind.
Yes I’m going to use the phrase. You can probably guess I’ve been leading up to it:
If you want handcrafted apparel that is “out of this world” then you could do worse than click here http://www.bexknitwear.com and hop on our website and sniff out a bargain from our range of hand knitted jumpers or be inspired to come up with the perfect design for you or your bestest (real word) loved one. Check out this jumper. It seems everyone instantly recognises this symbol. Let’s face it, love it or loath it, technology and the way we communicate with each other is hurtling at an astounding pace towards a future that we could have, at one time, scarcely dared to imagine. But Hey this isn’t a post about post apocalyptic knitting (Hmmm thinks: ‘The first bexknitwear jumper in space’. Watch out for that stellar blog).
Anyway, back here on planet earth. Here’s a jumper that the phone giant NOKIA asked us to throw together. Because it seems that no matter how far we take this technology and depend on these short code symbols to talk with each other, nothing can replace the familiarity of a hand knitted jumper, instantly recognisable and eye catching. Well done NOKIA.
It seems the woolly jumper continues to represent those welcome things in our lives, familiarity, fond memories of days gone by, family and other such home comforts and special times of the year. And now more and more are using the hand crafted jumper as blank canvases to get their messages out to the world. Just like t-shirts can instantly carry your message, more and more people are realising the extra special touch and extra impact one can have by having their own personalised jumper. So thanks NOKIA for the reminder.
Those clever folks at NOKIA asked us to knit this one up in an eighties style for their latest ad campaign in order to get people to like their pages.
What next NOKIA? Hand knitted smart jumpers…..

I feel like I should be in some kind of confessional; it has been so long since my last blog posting.
In a hugely and unashamed expression of appreciation I would like to offer a media mash up in today’s blog post and first one off the starting blog (block) is a rather cute little collection of just a few of the testimonials you lot have been kind enough to include.
I love knitting, it’s my favourite thing and when I get the kind of feedback like below then I have to sometimes wonder if it’s all a dream. My experiences with wool just get better and better and the wonderful people I get to meet through my constant clicking are the absolute icing on the cake. So strap yourselves in and enjoy:
It is truly amazing how word gets around about my jumpers and how the mainstream media are quick to snap them up. I am very proud to include a selection of cameos for my woolly wonders.
The first is from a BBC3 sitcom called Badults where two and a half of my jumpers appeared. Well done lads, you wear them well.
Can anybody remember this sweet old granny from the this BskyB advert. Hopefully you won’t have any problems remembering the jumper.
Fair doo’s I’d rather spend my time knitting and watching Sky sports than prattling with the same old faces (just kidding same old faces)
And now for a bit of fun. Here’s a couple of same old faces feeling the Christmas influence (hic) and the quality and warmth of my Jumpers.
Well that’s about it for this post. Just a reminder that my new gift certificate is now on my website and is easy to find since we redesigned the look of the voucher. here’s a quick link: http://www.bexknitwear.com.
In the meantime thanks for reading and watching. Hope you have fun with your next bexknitwear creation.
